Age
50yrs old
Achievements
I have managed a local football team to league champions And cup winners in same season and gained promotion 3 years on the run.Won many honours in a long playing career and is a keen all round sportsman was opening bat for county school.
Team Plans
I want a succesful team with home grown players who will rise to the challenge. Our aim is to win promotion in the first season.
Style of Football
Football is a game of passing and movement and therefore the ball should be played to feet with lots of running off the ball everyone is a defender and an attacker.
Why manage Chellaston FC
I have always wanted a local Saturday football team to manage. Both Colin Maund and myself, have spent the last two years planning this and believe that and believe that Chellaston FC will demonstrate standards of football in years to come that any team would be proud to aspire to.
Favourite player
The finest footballer that ever kicked football was George Best he was even in today’s standards a real superstar.

A good pint of Lager and a good night out with the lads, I also enjoy eating Steak or a good joint of roast beef.

Assistant Manager Profile

Name
Colin Stephen Maund
Born
Mountain Ash, South Wales
Age
49 yrs old
Nickname
Welshman
Achievements
Along with Ron Stewart gained 3 yr successive promotions in local League football with a cup winning team and finalist in successive seasons. Won many trophies as a young footballer and honours in the county Darts qualifying for southern region News of the World Darts finals in 1989.
Team Plans
I want a team of dedicated people who will do their best always, both in training and on the field to win the league in our first year. I want Chellaston FC to be in a serious league of football within 5 years and develop our own pitch and facilities.
Style of Football
I believe in the passing game playing the ball from the back and using the wide players with short passing in triangles. To play whenever possible three forward players as I believe the best form of defence is attack ( if we keep their defenders busy they wont be playing football).
Why manage Chellaston FC
I have always been involved as a physio within football circles all my life which is something I wish to continue so that I can give a little back to the many people here in Chellaston that have made me feel welcome since I arrived 10 yrs ago
Favourite player
John Charles one of the first british players to move abroad to play football ( A modern Phenomena even today).
Hates
I enjoy a bottle of good red wine as an occasional tipple with a weekly visit to my local The Chellaston Club where I am often forced to drink more than I can manage to withstand. I am a keen sports fan of almost every sport but especially Horse Racing.
Likes
I enjoy most things but I really hate cheap Whisky and wine and anyone who hates me really !.
